Middle Watch
Based on a true story, the inspiration for Middle Watch was a letter published in Animals magazine in 1963 about a strange incident during World War 2.
Directed by John Stevenson and Aiesha Penwarden, Middle Watch is a hand-drawn animated film produced by Skylark Films. It’s a collaboration between established talent alongside upcoming artists and students. The film was officially selected for over 50 film festivals globally and scooped many awards, culminating in BAFTA nominations for the film makers in 2023.

“A sailor must come to terms with the trauma of war and the mysteries of the deep, as he endures another shift on the ‘Middle Watch’.”
