About Us

Skylark Films Ltd is an independent film production company that makes hand drawn animated films.

We create thought-provoking content that reflects the diversity and complexity of our times, while rooted in the European tradition of cinematic artistry.

Skylark was founded by BAFTA nominated producer, Giles Healy and Oscar and BAFTA nominated director, John Stevenson.

Skylark’s first production was the internationally acclaimed short film, Middle Watch, which drew BAFTA nominations for the film makers and won Best Animated Film at the British Short Film Awards in 2023, amongst other awards and nominations.

Skylark is now in the process of developing a number of feature length projects and a horror anthology series and has an exciting slate in active development.

Through low-budget, independent films, we aim to preserve artistic freedom, nurture talent, whether established or emerging, and ultimately bring uncompromising stories to worldwide audiences.
